The tasbih after every prayer — 33 SubhanAllah, 33 Alhamdulillah, 34 Allahu Akbar — is a two-minute habit with immense reward. A digital tasbih means you never lose count and never lose the beads.

## Why Muslims count dhikr

The Prophet ﷺ taught specific numbers: the post-salah tasbih (33/33/34 completing 100), a hundred istighfar a day, morning and evening adhkar. The numbers aren't bureaucracy — they build constancy, and counting keeps the tongue moving when the mind wanders. Traditionally that meant a misbaha (prayer beads); today your phone is already in your pocket.

## What makes a good dhikr counter

- **One-thumb counting** — a big tap target you can use with eyes closed.
- **Preset cycles** for the classics: seven built-in adhkar, each set to ×33 — tap the target to change it (minimum 33), for example 34 for Allahu Akbar or 100 for istighfar.
- **Your adhkar are remembered** — the adhkar you choose are saved for your next prayer.
- **No distraction** — no ads or feeds between you and the remembrance of Allah.

## Built into your worship app, not another download

SAWM 360 includes the dhikr counter alongside prayer times and fasting: tap the ✓ next to a prayer, the tasbih opens, and finishing it marks the prayer done (free account required). Prayer times, fasting and dhikr live in one app instead of a scatter of single-purpose apps.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is using a phone counter instead of beads acceptable?

Yes — scholars permit counting on fingers, beads or a device; the sunnah emphasis is on the remembrance itself. Counting on the fingers of the right hand is also sunnah.

### Which adhkar can I count in SAWM 360?

Seven built-in adhkar (SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, istighfar and more) plus up to 20 custom adhkar of your own, each with a target of 33 or more.

### Does the dhikr counter work offline?

Yes — counting works without a connection. Counts themselves are not stored; marking the prayer needs a free account.
