# An Accurate Prayer Times App That Also Keeps You Honest

Most prayer apps tell you when to pray. Very few help you know whether you actually did. SAWM 360 computes precise, geolocated prayer times — then offers an optional Prayer Focus mode: a gentle pause at prayer time with an “I have prayed” check-in.

## How prayer times are calculated

The five daily prayers are anchored to the sun's position at your location: Fajr at true dawn, Dhuhr just after the zenith, Asr by shadow length, Maghrib at sunset, Isha at the disappearance of twilight. Compute them for the wrong city — or with the wrong convention — and you can be off by many minutes. That's why accuracy needs two things:

- **Your real coordinates,** not the nearest big city. SAWM 360 uses your geolocation directly.
- **The right calculation method** for your region's convention (Fajr/Isha sun angles differ between, e.g., Umm al-Qura, MWL, ISNA and Egyptian methods) — configurable in Settings.

## Prayer Focus: a pause for khushu', not noise

Turn on the optional **Prayer Focus** mode (a free account is required, and on iPhone and iPad Apple Screen Time permission too) and, when a prayer enters, SAWM 360 covers the apps you chose with a quiet, focused screen — "It's time for prayer" with a rotating Qur'an verse or hadith, like *"Islam is built upon five…"* — and two honest buttons: **"I have prayed ✓"** and Close. Tapping “I have prayed ✓” opens the tasbih; finishing it records the prayer.

## Your prayers and your fasts, in one app

Because prayer check-ins live in the same app as your fasting calendar, the Prayers tab shows which of today's five prayers you have confirmed, and your fasts are one tab away in the Calendar. One app instead of three disconnected ones.

## Fasting runs on prayer times anyway

Fajr and Maghrib aren't just prayers — they're the boundaries of every fast. The same precise calculation powers your suhoor deadline and iftar alert, which is exactly why a fasting app must be a great prayer-times app first.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do prayer times update when I travel?

Yes — times recalculate from your current geolocation, so the app stays accurate across cities and time zones.

### Can I track which prayers I've done?

Yes — in the optional Prayer Focus mode an “I have prayed ✓” button confirms each prayer, and the Prayers tab shows which of today's five prayers you have confirmed (a free account is required).
